Southern Oregon University’s Schneider Children’s Center is pleased to announce our new partnership with the Oregon Child Development Coalition and Early Head Start. This collaborative partnership will increase the number of infants and toddlers in a high quality early learning program, assist low-income families in obtaining childcare so they can work and/or attend school/training, and improve the quality of early childhood education.
We enroll on a rolling basis. Please click on the "Apply Now" link and complete the Pre-Enrollment Request Application to be added to our waitlist. You will receive an automatically generated response indicating that your application has been received, and a subsequent email from our Office Manager with more specific information.
The Schneider Children's Center is a state licensed facility serving children ages 6 weeks to 6 years old and is now open to the public. We have a highly educated and experienced staff with low turnover and low child to staff ratios. Staff are enrolled in the Oregon Registry and we are a Commitment to Quality center (QRIS) and a 2014 Farm to Preschool Grant recipient. We have a commercial kitchen with a full time cook who prepares wonderful healthy meals, made mostly from scratch, at no extra cost to families. We offer learning-rich indoor and outdoor environments, as well as opportunities such as walking field trips to the Growers Market and area parks and playgrounds. We invite presenters from the community and university to come speak to, or perform for, the children. Several options are available for parent involvement.
